Present Perfect : The Present Perfect is formed with ‘has/have + the Past Participle’
* The Present Perfect is used for the actions that started in the past and completed just now.
Examples:
Adah has just returned from Chennai.
I have finished the breakfast just now.
* Present Perfect is also used for an action that began in the past and is going on at present.
Examples:
Seetha has lived in Guntur all her life. ( She is still living there )
They have been married for nearly twenty years. ( They are still in the marital relationship )
* Present Perfect is used for the past actions which are still relevant.
Examples:
I left my bike at home. I have lost its keys.
Maria is not at home, she has gone to the market.
* The following adverbs are used with Present Perfect when referring to the recent past.
Recently, just, so far, until now, ever, yet, never
Examples:
The scientists have recently discovered the neurological causes of Alzheimer disease.
Have you ever seen a camel?
So far, I have saved only a few bucks.
Has he finished the dinner yet?
They have never experienced such difficulties.
* We sometimes use ‘since’ and 'for' in the Present Perfect
Examples:
I have learned French since I left my school.
We have lived here for eight years.
My wife has been watching the serial since it started.
He has taught at that school for a long time.
